I-83/CH 26 "The Story of the Nines Times Table"

This script features rhythm and rhyming words. Looking back, I always had trouble with the Nine Times Table. And so, in memory of those agonizing school days, I have written a script about that very table. If this script can help any young person master those pesky NINES, I'll be delighted!

Here is a sample from the RT Version:

READER 1:   Let’s read the story of The Nine Times Table.

(READER 2 is clearly not happy about this idea).

READER 2:     Aw, can’t we read a folk tale, a legend or a fable?

READER 3:     Come on! Somebody has to start.

READER 1:     Somebody be a hero!

(Pause)

READER 4:     O.K, O.K…

(Pause)

READER 4:     What’s 9 times nothing?

READER 5:     The answer is…

ALL
(EXCEPT 2):    ZERO!

READER 1:      Great! We’re on a roll, and just in time.

READER 3:      What’s 9 times 1?

(READER 2 is still not happy and is a bit bored, but is trying to participate):

READER 2:        That would be 9.

READER 4:        Then 9 times 2 is clearly 18,

READER 5:        Not more or less,

(Read with sarcasm):

READER 2:         Or somewhere in between.

READER 1:         So what’s the answer

READER 3:         To 9 times 3?

READER 4:         I think it’s 27.

READER 5:         Sounds right to me!

(READER 2 is still not buying into the program)
