This is a script about good and bad manners in the elementary school. It features reading lines for both Primary and Intermediate readers (and possibly a teacher or two). The script is written in both poetry and prose.
If you were the only person living on this earth, you wouldn't need to worry about having good manners. There'd be nobody around to care whether you said, "thank you" or "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" or whether you cared enough to comb your hair or not talk with your mouth full. But since we have to share this planet with others, it's worth examining whether good manners might help all of us live more happily together! This script attempts to do just that - and concludes with the realization that:
"It's all quite easy once you find,
Good manners means...
Just being kind!"

NOTE: To read this script, your students must be able to read simple words, phases, and sentences. The text is formatted for ALL GIRLS, ALL BOYS, and a number of SOLO READERS.
NOTE: Depending upon reading abilities, older readers (teachers or older students) might take the prose lines that ask the questions requiring a short ALL response from the readers.
The script is flexible and is formatted so that you can use only 8 solo readers to perform all the solo reader lines (just ask them to divide and share the lines that follow below) or pencil in additional reader numbers as the script progresses. You can probably give solo reading parts to every student in your class, depending on how you decide to divide the remaining reader lines. (You’ll see that reader numbers have been left blank after the initial 8). Please fill them in, according to your class size and needs.
