At present, I have 5 plays written especially for Seniors. I know that's not a great number but, if any of these titles work for you and your Senior Readers Theater group, I'll be delighted!
With that said, I just found a wonderful Senior Theatre Resource Center web site that offers so much more. Please check them out at: www.seniortheatre.com

SCRIPT 1:
SR-1, I LOVE IT!

A petite 92 year-old woman finds her life changing dramatically after the death of her husband. She moves into a nursing home and is taken to her new room by a nurse who hopes to ease the old woman's transition by chatting happily and being friendly. What goes around, comes around. In the end, it is the nurse who learns a great lesson about happiness and learns it from someone much older, more experienced, and wiser than she!

SCRIPT 2:
SR-2, LET THE GRANDPARENTS DO IT!
This is a script inspired by a short comic poem about letting grandparents "spoil" a newly born baby. We've expanded the idea to include 5 stages of a growing child's life: newborn, toddler, youngster, child, and finally, young adult. Each stage talks about the wonderful, brave, wise, loving, caring, and sometimes silly things our grandparents often do! Since they are so good at doing all these things, why not simply "Let the Grandparents Do It"? For seniors who are performing this script, special suggestions for reading approach and costuming are included in the text.
------------------------------
This script is formatted for 6 and/or up to 22 SOLO READERS, ALL, and an ALL CHORUS. You may use the original 6 solo readers throughout the entire piece, or add any number of additional readers up to 22 readers. Simply pencil in the additional reader numbers as you read through the script.
Script length: Approximately 6 pages of reading text.

SCRIPT 3:
SR-3, WHEN I'M OLD, AND LIVE WITH MY KIDS
I found this poem freely published online in a number of sites. I’ve made attempts to contact the author or the author’s representative, but have had no response. I wanted permission to re-format the text and develop it as a Readers Theater piece. As far as I know, this is acceptable, as long as the piece is not used for commercial purposes. At any rate, I have now re-formatted it and offer it free to any seniors who are interested. If anyone can connect me with the author, I’ll be truly grateful! Sincerely, Lois Walker
This script is formatted for 4 SOLO READERS and ALL.
Script length, 3 pages of reading text.
This is a free script. To open, download, and print, please click HERE.

SCRIPT 4:
I-118 THE GREAT CHRISTMAS PIE ESCAPE!
Early one morning in December, a sweet little grandmother decides it is time to make a Christmas pie. Her children and grandchildren are coming to visit during the holidays, and grandma wants to serve each of them some special pie. She has a problem, though. None of the families like the same kinds of pie! The plot thickens as grandma tries to make four different kinds of pies only to have each pie filling escape before she can finish her task!
This script is formatted for 8 SOLO READERS and ALL.
Script length: 11 pages of reading text. For more information, please click HERE.

SCRIPT 5:
SR-4 A READERS THEATER MURDER MYSTERY
"A RT Fundraiser Script"
Murder mystery scripts are "all the rage" these days, so why not set this Who-Done-It at a book club meeting in your very own community? The script is meant to be performed as a fundraiser, if desired.
Four retired - or almost retired - teachers from your area (a Librarian, Music Teacher, Science Teacher, and School Counselor) gather together to conduct a Readers Theater Workshop for a local book club.
The workshop is just beginning when a Drama Director from a "rival" school bursts into the room. She is followed by her mousey, over-worked, ill-treated Assistant Director - and the plot thickens!
Cast: 6 Readers
Script length: 33 pages of reading text. For more information, please click HERE.

All scripts are $14.95 except for Traditional Play Scripts, Special Packages and Collections.
NOTE: The price includes:
1. One copy of the script, sent to you electronically by Scripts for Schools.
