THE LEGEND OF THE BLUE LIZARD
Choral Reading Scripts
Ah, that's because "The Great Spirit" tore a strip from the sky, rolled it between his palms, and formed a Blue Lizard. Then he sent the lizard to earth by placing him on a sunbeam. The Cahuilla Indian children were very ill and the lizard's job was to heal them. He accomplished his mission, but at this point, the Blue Lizard realized he was in big trouble! Sunbeams go from the sun downward, they don't go back up. The lizard couldn't go home. The children finally get involved in this plot, and the rest is the stuff of legends!
