THE SWEET MESQUITE PORRIDGE POT - YOUNGER READERS

The pot is controlled by chanting a short magical poem and cooks "sweet mesquite porridge" on command. The girl's mother forgets the magical rhyme and the pot ends up creating havoc for local villagers in the Rain Shadow Desert below. To this day, no one in the village will ever eat mesquite porridge again.
